Meet JACOB CASTILLO

Candidate for

Mayor

IMG_0718.jpg

I’m Jacob Castillo, a husband, father, small business owner, and proud lifelong resident of the Yakima Valley.

I started a business right here in Zillah and grew it from a single truck into a team that serves families and businesses across the valley. I’ve learned what it takes to lead, to problem-solve, and to deliver results without wasting time or money.

I’ve seen firsthand how much gets done when people work together and how much gets lost when one person makes all the decisions. As mayor, I’ll lead the same way I built my business: by listening, planning, and getting things done.

Zillah Is at a Crossroads

Zillah has always been a place where neighbors look out for one another, where we gather at the park, support local businesses, and take pride in our town’s traditions.

But lately, too many decisions are being made behind closed doors, and too often, the people of Zillah are left out of the conversation. Growth is happening fast, but not always smart. If we’re not careful, we’ll lose the small-town charm and community spirit that make this place home.

That’s why I’m running for mayor, to bring decision-making back where it belongs: in the hands of the people.

🏘️ Smart Growth — Local Control

Growth is inevitable, but it should reflect our values. I’ll ensure any new development fits Zillah’s character — protecting farmland, respecting neighborhoods, and keeping our small-town identity intact.

🚧 Safe Streets & Smooth Roads

We all see it — potholes, speeding, neglected areas. I’ll prioritize real infrastructure improvements, better traffic safety, and common-sense road maintenance that serves residents, not outside interests.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Community Planning Restored

The community planning committee was once a vital part of Zillah’s process...then it was taken away. I’ll bring it back, so your input actually shapes our town’s future.

💼 Supporting Local Business

Our small businesses are the backbone of this community. I’ll champion a “Local First” approach, cutting red tape, supporting entrepreneurs, and making sure Zillah’s economy stays in local hands.

💬 Transparency & Accountability

I’ll end the one-man decision model. Public notice before major projects. Regular town halls. Open budget discussions. No surprises, just honest, local government.

My Promise to You

  • I’ll protect what works and fix what doesn’t.

  • I’ll empower community voices, not silence them.

  • I’ll stand up to outside agendas that don’t fit Zillah’s values.

  • And I’ll never forget that the mayor works for you.

Keep Zillah… Zillah!

Together, we can protect our small-town charm, support our local businesses, and make Zillah a place that still feels like home for generations to come.

“If you have an employee who’s rude, you make a personnel change. If you have a city that’s stopped listening, you make a leadership change.”
